Mediation Rates and Logistics

Mediation Rates & Logistics

Serving as a neutral Mediator is a big part of our work as a Ventura County and Conejo divorce mediation lawyer and mediator.

Services as a Mediator are billed on an hourly or a daily basis, depending on the parties’ needs. The parties are jointly responsible for paying all mediation fees; those fees may be split in any manner agreed upon by the parties. Payment is due in advance; no mediation is confirmed until full payment is received. A cancelation fee will apply to any confirmed mediation that is canceled less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled mediation time.

When retained on a daily basis, I clear my calendar for the entire day. When I am retained on an hourly basis, the mediation will begin at 9:00 a.m. or at 1:00 p.m. on the scheduled day; I may accept other engagements that same day. Consequently, if your case involves a complicated issue or you want to resolve multiple issues, the daily option will be the smart choice.

[Note: The information above applies to private mediations, scheduled by the divorcing parties; it does not apply to court-ordered mediations that I conduct as a member of a court mediation/settlement offer panel.]
